雑誌やネットを見てても、x86 Solaris9 に関する話題はあることはあるが
実際のオペレーション・スキームが見受けられないので、公開してみた。

Environment

CPU: intel pentium4 1.7GHz (初期のどうしようもないやつ。購入してから２年）

RAM: RIMM 512 MB (128MB × 4) これまた、初期のどうしようもないやつ

HDD: 82348 MB (約 80 GB) 

VGA: nVIDIA GeFORCE2 ULTRA AGP 64 MB 　現役バリバリ？

システムディスク情報を走査しています．．．

Solaris fdisk パーティションがルートディスク c0d0 上にありません。Solaris オペレーティング環境をインストールするには、Solaris fdisk パーティションが必要です。このパーティションには、少なくとも 393 M バイトの容量が必要です。

デフォルトでは、ブートディスクの空いている領域に、x86 Boot パーティションと Solaris パーティションが配置されます。サービス fdisk パーティションが存在する場合は、デフォルトで保持されます。

継続するには次のいずれかを選択してください：

1) デフォルトのディスク配置を使用する
2) fdisk を実行し、ディスクを手動で配置する
3) 終了する

選択してください： [?] 2

ここは各環境に応じて好きに設定してください。

注：ファイルシステムの配置中には swap サイズを変更できません。

swap スライスのサイズを 382 MB から 78511 MB の範囲で入力してください。
デフォルト = 512MB [?] 1024

swap スライスをディスクの先頭に置くと、これより後のインストール処理で、もっとも
柔軟にファイルシステムをパーティション分割できます。

Solaris インストールソフトウェアの一時コピーをディスクスライス c0d0s1 に配置します。
ファイルがコピーされた後に、システムがリブートされ、
インストール卯処理が継続されます。しばらくお待ちください．．．

ミニルートをローカルディスクにコピー中です。．．．完了しました。

プラットフォーム固有のファイルをコピー中です。．．．完了しました。

リブートとインストール処理のために準備しています。
インストールを継続するためにはリブートする必要があります。
ブートメディア　（フロッピーまたは CD-ROM）を取り出し、Enter キーを押してください。
注：　ブートメディアが CD-ROM である場合は
システムがリセットされてから CD-ROM を取り出してください。
