Windows Azure を RDS ホストとしてどの程度リモートデスクトップ環境として使えるのかを確認してみた。
■Windows Azure 利用条件:
– VM (仮想マシン)サイズは Extra Small
– リージョンは East Asia

■準備:
(1) Visual Web Developer 2010 Express をインストールする
(2) Windows Azure SDK and Windows Azure Tools for Microsoft Visual Studioをインストールする
(3) Visual Studio を起動する
(4) Windows Azure アプリ用のテンプレートを選択する
(5) 動作確認する
(6) リモート デスクトップを有効にしたパッケージを作成する
(7) Windows Azure にサービスを作成する
(8) リモート デスクトップで接続する
これら準備を済ませていることを前提に。

Windows Azure 仮想マシンのサイズ通りですね。

スクリーン右下表示 Windows Server (R) 2008 Enterprise Build 6002 ですが、ジェニュイン(正規版)ではないとのこと。VM へログインして使っていますからねぇ。

このリモートデスクトップ上で IE を多用するので、IEエンハンス・セキュリティコンフィグ (IE-ESC) から設定を無効化しておきます。(責任持たないので、各自の責任で!)

・そのまんま Remote Desktop 環境としては使用不可。インストールマニアックス目的 OSS インスコは何とかなるが、FX (外国為替証拠金取引) システムトレードツールをインスコしようとしても耐久性は乏しい。

Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) | Windows Remote Management (WinRM) service implements the WS-Management protocol for remote management.
